The town of Nobres, located 120 km from the Capital of MT, the region of the present municipality of Nobres was the starting point of the garimpeiro movement in MatoGrosso, in the south / west direction, which began in 1747 between Cuiabá and Diamantino. Territory inhabited immemorial by indigenous peoples of the Bakairí nation.
Nobres is a region rich in natural beauty. In Serra do Tombador are hidden wonders carved by nature, with numerous waterfalls and caves, some totally unexplored.
There are archeological sites of great scientific value, where paintings and rock inscriptions proliferate, attesting to the antiquity of human life in the region. Of incomparable beauty is the Blue Lagoon, located 52 km from the municipal headquarters.
At the point where the municipal seat is located, a village called Six Marias was begun, perhaps in reference to the patterns of division of lots in the provincial-sesmarias period. Later the place came to be known as Bananal.
The tourist attractions such as Lagoa Azul, Tombador Waterfall, among others, are worthy of mention. Its main economic source is cement and limestone, in addition to large grain crops

SNORKELING – NATURE TOURS

In the quiet village of BomJardim (Nobresprovince) we will visit a wonderful lagoon dotted with numerous palm trees. At sunset we'll wait for the arrival of many Blue-and-yellow macaws that have their nests inside of the palms trees. We will visit the lagoon twice, at sunset and at sunrise when the macaws are more active. It's possible also to observe and photograph many other bird species, such as Red-bellied macaw, kingfishers, woodpeckers, ibis, egrets, owls and more.
BomJardim is famous for its wonderful crystal spring water streams that flow in a lush forest. Here you will swim and snorkel in a amazing natural aquarium and then swim helped by the flow of a river for about 1 km, together with lot of different species of colored fish. A really amazing experience, don't forget your GoPro camera!
At BomJardim there are also other attractions, such as the wonderful waterfall Serra Azul and the Quebó Cave.
