BIRD WATCHING – SOUTHERN AMAZON

4 Days / 3 Nights – Immersion in One of the Most Biodiverse Regions of the Amazon

Located within a vast private reserve in the Southern Amazon, with more than 11,000 hectares of preserved rainforest, this experience offers a deep immersion in one of the richest ecosystems on Earth. The region hosts more than 600 bird species, as well as 8 species of primates, making it an exceptional destination for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts.

All activities are led by experienced naturalist guides who have extensive knowledge of species behavior and the best observation locations.

Day 1 – Arrival and First Observations
Arrival at the nearest airport to the Southern Amazon region and transfer to the reserve. After check-in and a brief introduction to the local ecosystem, we begin with a gentle walk along forest trails.

This first contact already offers opportunities to observe several typical Amazonian birds such as tanagers, woodcreepers, and antbirds.

In the late afternoon, we head out for birdwatching around the forest edges and open areas near the river — a time when many species become more active.

Dinner and briefing about the following day’s activities.

Day 2 – Birdwatching in the Forest Canopy

Departure before sunrise, the ideal time for birdwatching. A guided walk leads to a 50-meter canopy observation tower, offering panoramic views of the forest canopy — home to many rare and colorful species.

From the tower it is possible to spot toucans, aracaris, cotingas, hawks, and various species of parrots and parakeets.

After breakfast, exploration continues along deeper trails in the primary forest, focusing on understory species, which are often more challenging to locate.

In the afternoon, a canoe or boat excursion along the region’s crystal-clear river allows observation of birds associated with aquatic environments such as herons, kingfishers, jacamars, and other riverine species.

Dinner and free time to rest.

Day 3 – Specialized Trails and Bird Photography

Early morning departure for a specialized trail in areas known for high bird diversity. Guides assist with identifying bird calls and behaviors, helping guests locate rare and endemic Amazonian species.

After breakfast, time for rest or birdwatching around the lodge surroundings, where fruiting trees and natural feeding areas attract a variety of birds.

In the afternoon, another observation excursion combines forest walking with navigation through small channels, ideal for bird photography in a pristine natural setting.

At the end of the day, guests gather around a firepit to relax and share experiences about the species observed.

Day 4 – Final Observations and Departure

Before breakfast, a final birdwatching outing takes place near the reserve — an excellent opportunity to spot species not yet recorded during the trip.

After breakfast, transfer back to the airport.

BIRD WATCHING – MATO GROSSO

9 Noites | Três Biomas | Luxo Silencioso inspirado nos safáris africanos

Mato Grosso brings together three of South America's most extraordinary ecosystems — the Amazon, the Cerrado, and the Pantanal — forming one of the world's richest settings for birdwatching.

In a country that is home to nearly 2,000 species, this journey was inspired by the unique biomes.
We have developed exclusive safaris in small groups, at a contemplative pace, and with privileged access to preserved natural areas.

Guided by expert naturalists, equipped with telescopes and field guides, participants explore trails, rivers, and natural viewpoints, revealing the extraordinary diversity of Brazilian birdlife.

Day 1 – Arrival in Cuiabá | Gateway to the Biomes

Arrival in Cuiabá, gateway to three of Brazil's most fascinating biomes.

Important: it is recommended that the flight arrive preferably by 9 am to allow the transfer to begin on the same day. If there are no compatible flights, we suggest spending one night in Cuiabá the day before the start of the program.

Reception by the naturalist team and transfer towards the southern Amazon. Arrival at Pousada Jardim D’Amazônia, surrounded by preserved forest.

Introduction to the program and the extraordinary diversity of birds that will be explored throughout the journey.

Overnight – Amazon

Days 2 and 3 – Amazon | The Symphony of the Forest

Activities begin before dawn, when the forest transforms into a true natural symphony.

Guided walks along trails through primary forest and transition areas reveal birds typical of the Amazon.

During the quieter periods of the day, there is time for detailed observation, photography, and recording of vocalizations.

In the late afternoon, new outings allow for the observation of crepuscular species and the experience of the unique atmosphere of the rainforest.

Overnight stays – Amazon

Day 4 – Nobres | Crystal Clear Waters and Macaws at Dusk

After the morning activity, departure towards the Bom Jardim – Nobres region, known for its incredibly crystal-clear rivers.

The experience begins with floating in the Triste and Salobra rivers, where the water's transparency allows for the observation of fish and underwater vegetation, while riverside birds are frequently sighted on the banks.

At the end of the afternoon, a visit to the famous Lagoa das Araras (Macaw Lagoon), one of the most exciting natural spectacles of the Cerrado.

During sunset, flocks of Blue-and-yellow Macaws return to their nests in the buriti palm trees around the lagoon. The arrival of the macaws, with their intense calls and vibrant colors reflected in the water, creates a truly unforgettable moment.

After this experience, continuation of the trip to Chapada dos Guimarães.

Overnight – Chapada dos Guimarães

Day 5 – Chapada dos Guimarães | Birds of the Cerrado

Exploring the trails and viewpoints of Chapada dos Guimarães at dawn, in the heart of the Cerrado.
The contrast between rocky cliffs, open fields, and gallery forests creates ideal habitats for diverse species specialized in this biome.

In the late afternoon, another outing for sunset observation.

Overnight stay – Chapada dos Guimarães

After morning activities, departure towards the Pantanal, the largest wetland in the world.

Along the way, the open landscapes begin to reveal the impressive abundance of Pantanal birds.
