Experience in Bom Jardim – Nobres

Arrival:

The journey begins at Cuiabá International Airport, capital of the state of Mato Grosso.

After reception, we travel approximately 150 km by road, crossing open Cerrado landscapes until reaching the village of Bom Jardim.

The regular transfer departs from the airport at 1:20 PM.

Upon arrival, accommodation is provided at the charming Pousada Reino Encantado, a simple yet welcoming lodge that blends naturally with the tranquil surroundings of the region.

After check-in, time to relax and begin embracing the rhythm of nature.

Days of exploration

Days in Nobres are dedicated to slow-paced ecotourism experiences, exploring crystal clear rivers, preserved springs and rare natural formations.

Activities are conducted by a licensed bilingual naturalist guide (Portuguese/English), always respecting visitor limits and conservation principles that protect the clarity and purity of the waters.

Among the highlights of the experience are:

Snorkeling in crystal-clear rivers

One of the most iconic activities in the region. Equipped with mask, snorkel and flotation vest, visitors simply drift gently with the river current, observing colorful fish, aquatic plants and submerged limestone formations.

Visibility often exceeds 20 to 30 meters, creating the sensation of gliding over a vast natural aquarium.

The main snorkeling experiences in Bom Jardim take place in remarkably transparent waters such as:

  • Rio Salobra
  • Rio Triste
  • Aquário Encantado

Each of these locations offers a unique environment, with different limestone formations, underwater vegetation and a remarkable diversity of fish.

Springs and blue lagoons

Small springs emerge from the limestone soil forming lagoons of intense colors and extraordinary clarity, delicate habitats that reveal the purity of the region’s underground water systems.

Among the most impressive sites are Aquário Encantado and Lagoa Azul, where crystal clear waters reveal aquatic life with exceptional visibility.

Trails and Cerrado landscapes

Between aquatic activities, gentle walks allow visitors to observe Cerrado vegetation, regional birdlife and the rolling landscapes that characterize the surroundings of the Complexo Tombador.

The meeting of the Amazon and Cerrado biomes creates a unique diversity of flora and fauna.

Natural spectacle at sunset – Lagoa das Araras

In the late afternoon, one of the region’s most memorable experiences takes place at Lagoa das Araras.

At sunset, dozens of Blue-and-yellow macaws return to their nests in the buriti palm trees surrounding the lagoon. The sky fills with color, sound and movement as the macaws arrive in pairs or small groups, creating an extraordinary natural spectacle and one of the most photographed moments in Nobres.

Other possible activities in the region

In addition to snorkeling experiences, Nobres offers several nature-based activities that can complement the program:

  • Birdwatching
  • Interpretive ecological trails
  • Swimming in waterfalls and natural lagoons
  • Visits to limestone caves and grottos
  • Wildlife observation in the Cerrado

Philosophy of the Experience

Nature in Brazil is going through a delicate moment, increasingly affected by different environmental pressures. Experiences like this carry a greater purpose: to value, sustain and preserve natural ecosystems and the communities that depend on conservation.

Traveling to places like Nobres is not simply visiting a destination — it is participating in the protection of a rare natural heritage, where waters still run crystal clear and life continues in its purest rhythm.
